Sumo Run - Big Girls Don't Cry
WELCOME SUMO SUPPORTERS
Against our better judgment, we have decided to take part in this year's Sumo Run…
Imagine the Marathon Des Sables, the North Pole Marathon or the Iditarod, well this is nothing like that! On June 19th we will attempt to break a Guinness World Record by circumnavigating 5km of the treacherous terrain known as Battersea Park in London…along with the largest number of people ever to congregate in inflatable sumo wrestler suits!! To make us see it through, we are attempting this crazy feat in the name of charity, and as such, would be grateful if you could donate a few pounds to a very worthy cause.
The following briefly explains why we have decided to do this and who benefits...
WHO ARE WE RAISING MONEY FOR?
The Sumo Run raises money for UK-based charity Gemin-i. Gemin-i is an educational charity helping children around the world share ideas and work together for a brighter future.
WHAT DOES GEMIN-I DO AND HOW/WHY DO THEY DO IT?
Gemin-i brings together over 60,000 children in 114 countries to tackle the world's biggest problems such as malaria, HIV/Aids, human rights and conflict resolution. Gemin-i educates young people on these pressing issues through online resources and through helping children share their ideas via internet forums and debates, so that they can promote positive change around the world.
Brighter Children = A Brighter Future
That's about it - please give generously and remember that even a pound or two can really make a difference to give kids around the world the things we take for granted.
