Operation Smile UK
Operation Smile Charity Reg. No. 1091316 Operation Smile provides free cleft surgeries and related care for children in the developing world. We train local doctors around the world to give them the skills and expertise to carry out these surgeries long after we have gone. Just £15 can pay for the antibiotics for 10 children’s operations. See what else your donation could provide: £150 will pay for one child’s surgery £100 will equip a pre-op paediatric Centre £45 will pay for medical supplies for a child’s surgery £30 will pay for IV starter kits for 25 children £15 will pay for antibiotics for 10 children
Shooting Star Chase
Shooting Star Chase is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, we are here to make every moment count. We support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care. Our bespoke support is free of charge to families and available 365 days a year. Our care service includes short breaks at our two hospices (Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher’s in Guildford), Hospice at Home, day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family. It costs £10 million a year just to maintain our current level of care and, with around 10% of our income coming from government funding, we rely on our supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. What’s more, we know there are many more families desperate for our vital support, so it’s crucial we raise more funds to provide more care. For more details, or to find out how you can help visit
White Lodge Centre
White Lodge Centre supports disabled children, young people and adults, their families and carers in Surrey and throughout the surrounding areas. We specialise in care for those with a diverse range of disabilities, including cerebral palsy and other similar conditions. We’re recognised as a centre of excellence where all the services we offer consistently attain the highest possible standards. It costs over £2.5 million a year to run the White Lodge Centre which is not fully met by statutory sources, so we do rely on voluntary donations to maintain these vital services.

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page and supporting my marathon challenge.

I have now run my half marathons in London and Lausanne, cities that appropriately in 2012 both have a strong Olympic connection, and managed to do each of them in under 2 hours.

I am still raising funds for my chosen charities all of which have some personal meaning.

Operation Smile exists to provide life changing facial surgery. My daughter was lucky enough to benefit from our NHS when she underwent her own jaw surgery earlier this year but children in other countries are not so fortunate and a remarkable transformation can take place for as little as £150

I have had a connection to the Shooting Star for many years and am pleased once again to have the opportunity to support the work that they do with children with life limiting conditions.

Equally White Lodge is a long established charity near to me that provides a range of creative activities for disabled people of all ages and their families and carers.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
