LOROS Hospice provides specialised palliative care for terminally ill patients and their families along with a wide range of vital supporting services, free of charge. LOROS strives to improve quality of life by alleviating stress and pain and providing for the specific needs of the individual. Physical, emotional and spiritual support is given to patients and their families.
PROSTaid is helping to improve the awareness and treatment of prostate cancer patients in Leicestershire Rutland and Northamptonshire.

We (Chris White of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and Mark Robinson of Market Harborough Building Society) are together travelling between each headquarters of Leicestershire’s six building societies all in one day, using unusual forms of transport. So far a steamroller, a tandem, canoes, milk float, and horse and trap are in the running to be included.
We will depart from Market Harborough on the morning of September 21 and visit Melton, Loughborough, Shepshed, Earl Shilton and finish at Hinckley – changing modes of transport along the way.
The challenge, for which we are seeking sponsorship, is part of the Grant Thornton Executive Quest, which aims to raise money for LOROS and PROSTaid.
Chris White: "It’s going to be a fun but stretching challenge which we hope will raise lots of donations for LOROS and PROSTaid."
Mark Robinson: "Both LOROS and PROSTaid play such vital roles in Leicestershire, and we would like to help them towards raising the substantial funds they need in order to sustain and enhance the quality of care they provide."
