Charities

WaterAid
WaterAid is an international charity. Our mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. For a gift of just £15 WaterAid can enable one person in Africa or Asia access to these basic services.
Glad's House
Many young children, some as young as 3 or 4 years old, in Mombasa, Kenya, are so poor they live on the streets. Life for them is a bleak struggle for survival, where drugs, alcohol and crime are often the only means of escape. They desperately need help. ‘Glad’s House’ is a young charity that aims to help these street children return to a ‘normal’ way of life. Our aim is to get as many children as possible back to their families and into full time education. For those who can perhaps even places in higher education. For the less academic children or those too old to return to school, we aim to get them into apprenticeship schemes where they can learn a trade. All the older children we will assist in finding gainful employment.

Three Activities. Two charities. One World Record Attempt.

  • Three Peaks World Record attempt
  • Cycle 1,200 miles
  • kayak 145 miles
  • Hi everyone, thanks for showing an interest in our latest challenge, I hope you’re eager to hear about our latest antics and feel compelled to support our two chosen charities.  Our latest challenge is split into four extremely challenging legs that we hope will persuade you to sponsor us generously:

Stage One:  Day 1-7 Cycle 550 miles from London Tower Bridge to Ben Nevis in Scotland as the warm up.

Stage Two:  Day 8-9 Cycle between and climb the Three Peaks in under 46.5 hours to set a new world record.  This will be 440 miles cycling and 27 miles hiking in under two days.

Stage Three: Day 10-11 Cycle from Snowdon to Gloucester, 150 miles.

Stage Four:  Day 12-14 Slip into our wetsuits and Kayak the River Thames back to London Tower Bridge, 145 miles.

All of our endeavours are in aid of two charities close to our hearts; Glad's House and WaterAid.  They do some great work to help those less fortunate than us and your donations will help provide education and clean drinking water to less fortunate communities.  http://www.gladshouse.com/ & http://www.wateraid.org/uk
