Leuka
Our mission is to raise money to develop new treatments and cures for leukaemia and related conditions, and to provide world-class care for patients and their families. Why give to Leuka? Leuka exists to create a better future for patients with leukaemia both here in the UK and abroad. It raises money for research and treatment research and supports clinical trials into new and more effective therapies. A specialist leukaemia unit at Hammersmith Hospital was built with funds raised by Leuka - The Catherine Lewis Centre; a £10 million state-of-the-art facility is one of the world's leading units for haematology. Your gift will help clinicians and scientists to beat leukaemia and other related conditions.

Raleigh Chopper vs Mont Ventoux: 9 May 2014

Fundraiser:
Matt Richardson

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/chopper_vs_Ventoux

On Friday, 9 May 2014 I rode right up Mount Ventoux on an unmodified Mark 2 Raleigh Chopper from the mid 1970s.

Here's the address of the blog about the attempt:

My objective is to raise money for cancer research by Leuka which continues to be at the forefront of research into the causes of cancer. This charity is supported annually by the Fireflies Tour from Geneva to Cannes, in which I participated in 2007 and 2008. Further details are here:

I rode the route from Bedoin: 1,617 metres over 21.8 km. It's the most famous and is reputed to be the most difficult ascent. The road to the summit has an average gradient of 7.43%.

The ascent took me 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
