Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. We support men and provide vital information. We find answers by funding research into causes and treatments. And we lead change, raising the profile of the disease and improving care. We believe that men deserve better.

chris dobbs's 2013 cycle challenge page
Hi, and thanks for visiting my fundraising page !
My challenge this year is again in support of prostate cancer treatment and awareness. Prostate Cancer UK is the leading charity fighting the disease nowadays and with partnerships with many hospitals including UCLH to do the research and awareness needed to help future patients. Check out the logo to the left for general info and their website has all the details.
Those of you that know me will know I have had some groundbreaking new treatment at UCLH following my diagnosis almost two years ago ..its all gone very well and now I can't keep off the bike! So the thing is that I personally have a lot to be grateful for due to this kind of fundraising over the years and I can definitely tell you that the research it pays for works. My target is a bit bigger this year and it goes direct to help people now and for the future.
Anyway, the cycling! The main event I'm doing is the Ride London 100 which is a 100 mile ride on the Olympic road race route.
It's a tough one but all on closed roads and a big event starting at the Olympic Stadium and ending on the Mall, so I'm desperate to save enough energy for a sprint finish. It's on Sunday 4th August.
I'll post pictures of training, the route, etc over the next few months up to August and I'll let you all know how I get on.
Before that one, like last year I'm also going to do another Norway ride in June as part of my 2013 fundraising challenge and the target is to ride up the Trollstigen mountain road. I'm not saying how long it will take and hopefully there is a cafe on the way up, or two. Three would be nice.

Thanks, I'll let you all know how it all goes!
Chris
