Helen And Douglas House
Helen & Douglas House is a registered charity providing respite and end of life care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, as well as support and friendship for the whole family. The two hospice houses are bright, vibrant and positive places, where the emphasis is on living life to the full, even when that life may be short.

Edinburgh to London Cycle - Chyavan & Joe

Hi, we are Chyavan Rees and Joe Callard. In August we will be cycling from Edinburgh to London in aid of Helen and Douglas House. 500 miles. 5 days.

Helen & Douglas House provide hospice care for children and young adults from birth to 35 with life-shortening conditions, and support for their families. They are bright, vibrant and positive places, focused on bringing some depth and enjoyment to life in often difficult circumstances. Helen House was the world's first children's hospice, built in 1982; Douglas House is the world's first hospice for young adults, which opened in 2004. Together they add "life to years" through rest and recuperation, treatment of distressing symptoms, end of life care, family support and education.

It costs just over £4.5 million each year to run Helen & Douglas House with the government providing very little funding. They rely on voluntary donations for over 80% of their income.

We would be very grateful for any donations as you will be helping many people in need.

Many thanks,

Joe and Chyavan.
