EllenorLions Hospices
EllenorLions Hospices provides all encompassing hospice care to over 2,500 children and adults each year and aim to provide a seamless service to meet all the needs of our patients and their families. We care for people at any age with cancer and other progressive, life threatening illnesses. Our care takes place in the patient's home, in local hospitals and our own 15-bed hospice. We started the first hospice at home service for children in the UK and have pioneered transition care for teenagers. We strive to provide world leading hospice care.

For those of you that know me well, you'll know that camping/survival skills really isn't my thing!  But as Head of Care for chYps, I know that for all the great work we do, there are many more children and their families out there who need our help. But for chYps to help them, we need more money. So who am I to say no? After all, how hard can water purification be...

This kind of challenge is nothing compared  to the kind of challenges that face our 120 seriously ill children and their families every day. They have no option except to try and make it through.

Over the last 18 years chYps has  pioneered a new model of childrens hospice care. Instead of taking the child to the hospice, we take the hospice to the child,  providing full treatment and care in the family home.

In addition to chemotherapy and other medical care for the child, chYps provides support for the whole family through respite, counselling, play and music therapies, spiritual care and bereavement support. All in the home. All in the home.

Children living with serious or terminal illnesses often face frequent trips to and long stints in hospital. Unsettling for the child; disrupting for the family, but chYps enables families to stay together in the comfort and security of familiar surroundings.

If ever a family is in need, one of our dedicated team of specialist chYps nurses are only a phone call away all day, every day.

But we can only continue to provide this wonderful service with your generous donations. Please dig deep and do all you can to support chYps and our families.
