Charity

British Lung Foundation
The British Lung Foundation is the only charity in the UK focussed on all lung diseases and lung health. One person in seven in the UK is affected by a lung disease. Whether it's asthma, COPD, lung cancer or other lung conditions, the British Lung Foundation is here for every one of them. We focus our resources on providing support for people affected by lung disease including asthma and lung cancer today; and work in a variety of ways, including funding world-class research into lung disease. We also campaign for positive change for people affected by lung disease including lung cancer and improve treatment, care and support for people with lung conditions such as asthma and lung cancer. We have a helpline with dedicated professionals who are fully trained in all aspects of lung health and lung disease including lung cancer and COPD and we fund nurses who are trained to deliver specialist support to people with lung cancer, COPD and other lung diseases. Please support the British Lung Foundation. Help us to support people affected by lung conditions including asthma, COPD and lung cancer. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.

Pulmonary Fibrosis is a condition that seems to affect about 1 person in every 6000.  As yet there is no known cure other than a lung transplant.  People who have pulmonary fibrosis have a wide variety of symptoms and the progress of the condition varies greatly. A recent study showed that more people die from Pulmonary Fibrosis than die from Breast Cancer in any given year.  Many causes of pulmonary fibrosis have been identified but the majority have no identifiable cause.  Research is continuing to discover the reasons for Pulmonary Fibrosis and to identify suitable treatments and hopefully a cure.
