Cycle Odyssey - European Expedition 2010

Fundraiser:
John Nolan

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/cycleodyssey

Thank you for visiting our page.  From 15th - 31st July 2010 John Nolan and Robert Joy will be cycling from Staplehurst in Kent to Dover, catching the ferry to Dunkirk and then cycling approx 750 miles to Esbjerg on the West Coast of Denmark where they will catch the ferry back to Harwich and cycle back to Staplehurst. Total distance will be in the region of 800-850 miles.

The trip will be entirely unsupported and Robert and John will be carrying all of their camping, cooking and cycling equipment with them on their bikes.  There is no backup vehicle and most nights will be spent camping either by the roadside or at campsites, regardless of weather

The bikes are cheap commuter bikes and the aim is to achieve 65-75 miles per day.

The route will take them through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark and also via Central London.

The charity that they are raising money for is 'High Flight’ which is a UK registered charity created from within the Flight Operations department of British Airways. Their vision is to provide for the relief of young people with physical or mental disability, to try to improve their quality of life by assisting in the provision of flight training and associated activities and also to further the education of children and young people in the field of aviation and related subjects.
