On 28th and 29th September a team from Ground Control, Broadwick Live and Attitude is Everything will cycle 140 miles ‘Coast to Coast’ – Whitehaven to Tynemouth, raising money to support the work of Attitude is Everything. Attitude is Everything have closely worked with Ground Control and Broadwick Live to improve access at their shows, with the majority of those shows now proudly Attitude is Everything Silver Status in respect of the Charter of Best Practice. Jon Drape, a Director of Broadwick Live and Ground Control, is a patron of Attitude is Everything so the businesses and charity have a well established relationship. We will also be joined by our friends from FGH Security, whose work on site is vital in ensuring the access operations run smoothly!
One in four deaf and disabled people feel lonely most days, rising to one in three young people; 29% are able to meet up with friends less than once a month. Attending live music events has the potential to transform their lives: it brings huge benefits in terms of emotional wellbeing, improved health and social inclusion.
Attitude is Everything believe that any deaf or disabled person should be as independent as they wish at live music events and venues. They achieve this vision by working with event organisers such as Ground Control and Broadwick Live, as well as audiences, artists and the wider music industry.
Live music is at the heart of what we do and is a powerful way of bringing about social change. For this to be realised it is vital that deaf and disabled people are included and it is through the important work of Attitude is Everything over the past 17 years that significant steps have been made to ensure this happens.
£10,000 will make a huge difference to Attitude is Everything’s ability to continue this work and we are very grateful for your support in helping us achieve this target and hauling our sorry asses over the very big hills between Whitehaven and Tynemouth!
