The Cure Parkinson's Trust
Help us to find a cure for Parkinson’s. The Cure Parkinson’s Trust was founded by people with Parkinson’s, with the sole aim of helping to find a cure for this degenerative neurological condition. Frequently considered as an old person’s disease, Parkinson’s can affect anyone at any time. The youngest person diagnosed is just nine years old, and many in their 20s and 30s are given this devastating diagnosis. Parkinson’s doesn’t kill, it imprisons, removing all control over natural movement, a life sentence for a young person with Parkinson’s. The Cure Parkinson’s Trust wants to reverse the condition. We have already made significant headway. Patient led, we are impatient to wrestle back control over our lives. We are engaging the whole Parkinson’s community, with scientists, with regulators, with industry and with policy makers because we believe Parkinson’s can be cured. No-one is more passionate about this than the people touched by this cruel disease. But we need everyone’s help. Join us, because together we can illuminate the issues and the research being undertaken to beat it and we are close.

Being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease whilst in my 40's was life changing. Parkinson's Disease is a progressive degenerative neurological disease for which there is currently no cure. It affects 130,000 people in the UK and around 5% of us are under the age of 50.

The symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease impact on every aspect of daily life. Exercise is essential to help battle this disease and setting a physical challenge gives an added incentive to keep fit. The challenge? To cycle 500km through Vietnam and Cambodia to raise funds for The Cure Parkinson's Trust, a charity that funds research into treatments that have the potential to slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s Disease. https://www.cureparkinsons.org.uk

I couldn’t do this challenge alone and am overwhelmed that 15 wonderful people are willing to join me cycling up to 60 miles a day in the humidity and 30° heat of Southeast Asia. Details about each of them can be found on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/cureparkinsonsdisease/

Please support us in any way you can and help make a difference to the lives of thousands of people living with this disease.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
