NSPCC
The NSPCC's purpose is to end cruelty to children. Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. We seek to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of all children and young people across the UK and Channel Islands. In September 2008, the NSPCC launched its Child's Voice Appeal to answer more children's cries for help. Every day, thousands of children and young people need to talk to ChildLine about a problem they face, while hundreds of caring adults call the NSPCC Helpline, worried about a child's safety. With the help of people like you, ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline are already there for thousands of children and young people, but many more need our help. We rely on the generosity of the general public to continue our work.

Thanks to everyone who backed me (financially and morally) for my recent 5K but I am sorry to say, that my journey is far from over.

When I started this running lark I decided I wanted a longer term project and target and figuring that a 10K was simply double what I would have achieved (and now accomplish), I have decided to go for a much longer distance.

So therefore it is time to announce that I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October of this year. Yes the idea of a half marathon is pretty terrifying and while the views and surroundings will be awesome, this gives me a real incentive to do something worthwhile.

Also for those in the information security arena, I am running this as part of Team White Hat and all of the money raised goes to its (or our?) chosen charity – ChildLine. Also, as Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation, it will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

So I will continue to pound the pavements with my training, will attempt to update you on my progress via Twitter and the SC Magazine UK website.
