Charities

Isabel Hospice
At Isabel Hospice we care for people across Eastern Hertfordshire, who suffer from life-limiting illnesses, such as cancer and who are in the terminal stage. Our ethos is to treat the whole person, not simply their illness, and to maximise the quality of life that they have in their remaining months and weeks. Last year we cared for over 2,700 patients, family members and carers, free of charge. Our care is often described as a light in the tunnel at a very dark time. To give this free care, we need to raise over £4 million each year. Of this total, £2.7 million must be raised from charitable sources. Every penny really does count. To find out more about our services, log on to www.isabelhospice.org.uk Thank you.
Mountain Rescue England and Wales
Mountain Rescue England & Wales is the umbrella body for all Mountain Rescue Teams operating in England & Wales. The organisation provides training and equipment as well as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information amongst the teams. MREW membership is made up of the volunteer teams and regional cave and mountain rescue organisations, as well as representatives from other interested parties amongst the statutory emergencies services.

Dawn and Matt's Coast to Coast Challenge

Fundraisers:
Matt Royall,

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/DawnandMatt

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.

Between 26th June and 7th July 2012 we are aiming to complete Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk. 190+ miles of paths, ridges, bogs, summits and a few roads between St. Bees in Cumbria and Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire.

We are raising money for two charities close to our hearts. Isabel Hospice has been providing an invaluable service to terminally ill people locally for 30 years. Mountain Rescue England and Wales administers the 9 regional Mountain Rescue Services providing equipment and support to the volunteer crews.

We are funding the challenge ourselves so all money donated is spilt straight down the middle between the two charities.

This is no mean feat and we have already begun training in earnest.

Where signal allows we will be Tweeting and Facebooking so that you can keep an eye on our progress.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
