Charity

Epilepsy Research UK
Epilepsy Research UK is the only national charity exclusively dedicated to research into epilepsy. Over 600,000 people in the UK have a diagnosis of epilepsy, that is 1 in 103. Epilepsy can take many forms from a momentary blank spell to a dramatic major convulsion. Even with control of seizures, the quality of life for people with epilepsy can be unpredictable and restricted. However, new research offers the very real possibility of developing therapies that could prevent these deaths and transform the lives of those affected. Developments in drug therapy and medical scanning, along with major breakthroughs in the study of the human genome, mean that great progress has been made in understanding the causes of epilepsy in recent years. Even greater advances will be made in the coming years and our research will be at the forefront of developments to control, and perhaps even cure, epilepsy. By supporting Epilepsy Research UK you could make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people.

DOC Cleaning Limited have a participant in the London Triathlon.

On Sunday 9th August, Jamie Bull from our Head Office in Epping, will be taking part in the London Triathlon in order to raise money for Epilepsy Research UK. DOC Cleaning have chosen this charity to raise money for as they have been closely affected by Epilepsy, following the sad and sudden death of long standing employee, Helder De Freitas, earlier this year.

Epilepsy Research UK supports the work of scientists and clinicians throughout the UK, who are investigating all aspects of epilepsy in both adults and children. They are especially looking at what causes epilepsy, who is at risk of developing it, what goes on in the brain during a seizure, and safer drugs and better surgical techniques to treat it.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charity. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
