Guy's and St Thomas' Charity
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the oldest and most well-known teaching hospitals. Our areas of specialisation include: cancer, cardiovascular services, kidney and urology, sexual health services and dermatology. We are home to the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. We also provide a wide range of community services in Lambeth and Southwark to children, adults, older people and those with learning disabilities. With your help we can offer medical care that is second to none.

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.

Guy's & St Thomas' is a commissioned respiratory ECMO (ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) centre, one of only 5 in the UK. People who require ECMO are often young, previously fit, and have a completely reversible cause for their lung or heart failure. ECMO replaces these organs' functions and buys them time to recover. At GSTT, now the biggest ECMO centre in Europe, 75% of our ECMO patients go from being the most critically unwell people to walking out of hospital. These outcomes are comparable with the best centres in the world.

GSTT is committed to building a new 11-bedded ECMO unit in 2017. This will be on EW6 in the East Wing. Critical care capacity at GSTT needs to expand to ensure we can provide the best standard of care for the sickest people. We, the ECMOnauts, are dedicating your sponsorship to the funding of this new ECMO unit.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and are quite prepared to risk life and limb for this cause!

Always remember, time can only heal wounds if you're on ECMO...!

Lots of love,

Chris, Nick & Steve
