Mark Evison Foundation
The Mark Evison Foundation was set up in 2009 to give financial support to young individuals who have a goal which will contribute to their own personal, physical and mental development, give them the opportunity to develop and grow in confidence and self-reliance by challenging themselves, and as well gain new skills. We want to help bring out the best in them. Mark died at the age of 26 from a gunshot wound in Afghanistan whilst a lieutenant in the Welsh Guards of the British Army. He was a gregarious, adventurous, brave and talented individual who embraced the prospect of challenges and opportunities to develop himself personally. He always took pride in consideration of others, encouraging others, and team work. Many individuals and organizations helped him achieve great things in his short life. We want to celebrate Mark’s life by helping others as Mark received help: we want Mark’s name and values to live on and his death to have some positive continuing effect.
Big Change
Big Change has a fundamental belief in the UK’s young people. They’re our priority, our passion, and our inspiration. And everything we do is designed to help them be the very best version of themselves. Helping them rise above and beyond their circumstances, and giving them the opportunity, motivation and courage to see the positive differences they can make for themselves, for others, and for their community. How do we do it? By identifying, partnering with and connecting like-minded organisations and individuals who are all striving to accelerate positive change. We raise money and awareness around key issues for youth in the UK. We support the people and projects at the heart of communities that are doing important, innovative work at ground level to make a real difference. And they’re people who are not afraid to work together to bring brilliant ideas to life.
