NSPCC
The NSPCC's purpose is to end cruelty to children. Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. We seek to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of all children and young people across the UK and Channel Islands. In September 2008, the NSPCC launched its Child's Voice Appeal to answer more children's cries for help. Every day, thousands of children and young people need to talk to ChildLine about a problem they face, while hundreds of caring adults call the NSPCC Helpline, worried about a child's safety. With the help of people like you, ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline are already there for thousands of children and young people, but many more need our help. We rely on the generosity of the general public to continue our work.
British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation is the nation's heart charity. Every day they save lives, through pioneering research, providing vital information to help people reduce their own heart health risks, campaigning for change and supporting and caring for heart patients. Charity Registration No 225971
Wiltshire Air Ambulance
The Air Ambulance is a unique charity whose sole aim is to save the lives of people living in Wiltshire. Each year we need to find in excess of £700,000 in order to keep the helicopter flying. These costs, as with everything else, rise annually. Wiltshire Air Ambulance is unique. It is the only Air Ambulance in the UK to be able to fly 19 hours each day 365 days of the year. As a result of this in 2009, our team of paramedics and pilots attended over 900 call outs; an average of 2.4 call outs per day. Each call out was serious or a life threatening incident. From any given point on a map of Wiltshire, our flight times can have an injured person at the nearest hospital with in 11 minutes. WAA touches the lives of many people across the County. Unfortunately, accidents happen and when they do, we are regularly on the scene to assist. We don’t help just one area of the community but are there for everyone. In the history of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance we have attended over ten thousand incidents saving countless lives.
