The Challenging Behaviour Foundation
The Challenging Behaviour Foundation (CBF) is a UK wide charity which provides information and support to families and professionals caring for individuals with severe learning disabilities, who are described as having challenging behaviour. "Our aim is for children and adults with severe learning disabilities, who are described as having challenging behaviour, having the same life opportunities as everyone else, including home life, education, employment and leisure"

Thank you for visiting CBF's Everybody Matters fundraising page.

In 2011 BBC’s Panorama exposed systemic abuse at Winterbourne View, a private hospital for people with learning disabilities. Winterbourne View is now closed, but hundreds of people still live in places like this, hidden away out of sight and out of mind.

A short trailer is available to view now:

We hope that this short film will be developed into a longer film to raise awareness of the impact of challenging behaviour on individuals with learning disabilities and their family carers. In order to make this longer film we need your help. Any donation you can make towards this will help us make a diiference.

Every person who gives over £25 will receive a free copy of the film when it is completed. Please ensure you tick the box "I'm happy to share my name and email address when I make this donation" in order for us to arrange delivery.

You can keep an eye on our progress via our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Everybody-Matters/152584921528696), if you are not on facebook and want to know how we are doing email claire.crump@thecbf.org.uk

Please note: In the unlikely event that we don't raise our £25 000 target we will use the funds for another CBF project

05.03.12 Something needs to be done about the lack of meaningful activity which many people with the most complex needs endure day in day out. The boredom leads to anxiety which in turn leads to challenging behaviour.

02.03.12 thank you for your leadership. We are delighted to be working with you to make this crucial film about love, resilience, family life about the right support.

22.11.11 A much needed film

20.11.11 My brother has severe learning disabilites and was in residential care. I'm appalled to think that there are people who abuse these vulnerable individuals. It is important to show how people can be supported to have fulfilled lives.

11.11.11 A really powerful film. After watching the Panorama programme I'm happy to support this project which will help to stop the abuse of people with learning disabilities.
