Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

Last year my 11 year old daughter, T1 since 2011, has gone onto a pump. This fantastic piece of technology has already made a radical difference to our lives - not least because we have gone from up to 8 injections of insulin per day to a single cannula change every 3 days. B wears the pump permanently, and it delivers insulin in tiny amounts, day and night.

This amazing advance in the treatment of diabetes came about through research, and JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity which funds research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. It's a really exciting time to be involved with them, as there is genuine hope and belief that a cure is closer than ever. By donating to JDRF, you can be a part of this cure. Even if it takes another 30 years, my daughter will still be younger than I am now,and will have the chance to live a normal adult life!

While fundraising for JDRF, this year I am also supporting Type 1 International. They aim to raise awareness about the challenges of life with Type 1 diabetes in resource-poor settings around the globe.

"We advocate for adequate access to insulin, diabetes supplies, medical care and education for all people living with Type 1 diabetes, no matter where they live. Life with diabetes is complicated. Access to vital insulin, diabetes supplies and medical care should not be."

They don't yet have a gift aid number, but you can contribute to them directly, or one of their projects, via their webpage, here:

Please consider supporting them.

So, my challenge this year?

The London Nightrider, 100km around London at night - this will be my 4th time.

As ever, I'm incredibly grateful for any support you can offer, to JDRF - Hope is in a cure.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for your generous support.
