As one of the UK's leading children's charities, Barnardo's works directly with over 100,000 children, young people and their families every year. We run nearly 400 vital projects across the UK, including counselling for children who have been abused, fostering and adoption services, vocational training and disability inclusion groups. Every Barnardo's project is different but each believes in the potential in every child and young person, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through. Whatever the issue from drug misuse to disability; youth crime to mental health; sexual abuse to domestic violence; poverty to homelessness; Barnardo’s believes we can bring out the best in every child.
Forces Children's Trust
As a charity we are devoted to working together to help children in need whose father or mother has died, or has been seriously injured, whilst a serving member of the British Armed Forces. The Forces Children's Trust is a non-profit organisation and the dedication of those involved ensures that the administrative costs are kept to a minimum, allowing all donations to be allocated exclusively to the needs of the children. This ensures that the children alone benefit from your generosity and that smiles eventually return to their young faces.

Female Atlantic Row 2016's Fundraising Page

Gemma Chalk, Jane McIntosh, Olivia Wilson, Clare Lanyon

My page:

GEMMA CHALK, CLARE LANYON, JANE MCINTOSH & OLIVIA WILSON are rowing the Atlantic in January 2016.  Raising money for Barnardo's Children Charity and the Forces Children's Trust, they have a target of £30,000 for these worthwhile causes.

This crew of four women will be rowing some 2994 miles (2602nm) from Gran Canaria to Barbados in late January 2016, chasing the current female speed record of 45 days, 15 hours and 26 minutes, as well as raising some much needed funds for these two charities. ALL the money raised is going to Charity!

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor the girls and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

You can follow our journey at via the "Oceanus Rowing" Facebook page and on Twitter @OceanusRowing.
