Teenage Cancer Trust
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the six young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day. We build specialist units within NHS hospitals bringing young people together to be treated by teenage cancer experts in a place designed just for them. We want every young person with cancer to have access to this specialist support, no matter where they live. Traditionally treated alongside children or elderly patients at the end of their lives, young people can feel extremely isolated during treatment, some never meeting another young person with cancer. Being treated alongside others their own age can make a huge difference to their whole experience. Teenage Cancer Trust also educates young people and health professionals about cancer to ensure a swift diagnosis and referral to specialist support. Cancer in young people is rare but we want young people to know the common signs and symptoms so they can seek medical advice if they are worried. We rely solely on donations to fund our vital work. You can help transform the lives of young people with cancer. Visit www.teenagecancertrust.org to find out how.

Sarah Kemp - Marathon Madness

Fundraiser:

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/foodforthink

I know, I know... I'm mad.

Up until a few years ago, when I completed my first half marathon, I had never run for more than 4 miles. I remember the nervousness of thinking I would be running over 13 miles in one go. But I did it!

I definitely remember thinking 'I will never ever do a marathon', as I crossed the finishing line. But fast forward another two half marathons and a spattering of 5 and 10k races, and that London Marathon is starting me square in the eye... telling me to have a go.

I'm running for Teenage Cancer Trust. Cancer is something that has affected many people close to me during my life time and I want to run for this good cause.

And I need your help! Over course of the winter, I'll be getting out there in the cold and dark days / nights to do what I don't really enjoy much at all... training.

I want to ask you to donate, as every £1 will spur me on a little bit more. The training is the hard bit and I'm not looking forward to it, but your donations will fuel the training fire.

Hope some of you can make it down on the day to see my cherry red blotchy face and hear a whole host of swear words escaping my lips.
