Charity
Hope for Children (HOPE) was founded in 1994 is a non-religious, non-sectarian, non-profit-making organisation which exists to help children, in particular those living in developing countries as well as the UK, who are Helpless, Orphaned, Poor and Exploited. HOPE seeks to promote sustainable long-term development for impoverished, disadvantaged children and their families through activities which enhance and promote their sustainability. Wherever possible, HOPE provides practical support which allows children to grow up within their own families and communities. Most of our support is through direct help to children at grass-root level, managing smaller projects which are often overlooked by larger funding organisations. It does so primarily by supporting cost-effective initiatives of local partners (organisations, groups and individuals) making a real difference to the children who need it most. HOPE is a low-cost, no frills charity who are proud to say that 100% of all public donations go towards their worthwhile beneficiaries.

Tom Gilbert is running the London Marathon!
This year I'm going to attempt to run the London Marathon. I need your help!
I'm a bit behind in my training as I hurt my foot running a 10k last October and was out of commission for a while. This means I really need an extra boost to get me there which is where you come in. Please sponsor me!
The training is pretty hard and finding time to do it is tough too, I really need the extra encouragement to keep on slogging in the wind and the rain between now and April 25th!
The charity, Hope for Children, is a really worthwhile one. They are small and focused, and 100% of donations go to helping kids around the world. You can't argue with that, can you?
If you are wondering how much to donate, do bear in mind that:
- This is my first marathon
- I need a lot of encouragement
- If you work for DB they will match your donation (please use your db.com email address!)
- This is my first marathon!
--
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
