British Lung Foundation
The British Lung Foundation is the only charity in the UK focussed on all lung diseases and lung health. One person in seven in the UK is affected by a lung disease. Whether it's asthma, COPD, lung cancer or other lung conditions, the British Lung Foundation is here for every one of them. We focus our resources on providing support for people affected by lung disease including asthma and lung cancer today; and work in a variety of ways, including funding world-class research into lung disease. We also campaign for positive change for people affected by lung disease including lung cancer and improve treatment, care and support for people with lung conditions such as asthma and lung cancer. We have a helpline with dedicated professionals who are fully trained in all aspects of lung health and lung disease including lung cancer and COPD and we fund nurses who are trained to deliver specialist support to people with lung cancer, COPD and other lung diseases. Please support the British Lung Foundation. Help us to support people affected by lung conditions including asthma, COPD and lung cancer. Thank you.

BUPA GREAT NORTH RUN IN AID OF BLF

Fundraisers:
PETE WISEMAN, HELEN WISEMAN

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/helenandpetewiseman

Pete and myself are running the BUPA Great North Run in September 2010 in aid of The British Lung Foundation (BLF). We have chosen to to run for BLF because my Mum has Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease (COAD) and requires continuous oxygen. Her condition restricts what she can do.  Despite this she is always positive and has a great sense of humour. She remains as active as possible and is an inspiration to us. In the past we have, with Mum's encouragement, ran the Dublin Marathon and the Nottingham Half Marathon to raise money to buy equipment for our local Specialist Respiratory Team & Hospital At Home Team.  We have decided this time to raise money for BLF nationally to help with vital research into respiratory conditions.  We are both regular runner's and are hoping to complete the half mararthon in under 2 hours.

Please be generous and support this very important organisation as any one of us could be affected by lung disease. Pete managed to get a ballot place in the run and I have a charity place with the BLF. When donating can you pleae donate to us as a team rather than individuals.

Many thanks for you support.

Helen & Pete

WE COMPLETED THE RUN IN 2:21:30 HAVING HAD COUGHS AND COLDS THE PREVIOUS WEEK. IT WAS A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE AND WE WILL DO IT AGAIN.
