Wakefield Hospice was founded in 1982 and opened in 1990 by the people of Wakefield. We are committed to providing the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced active, progressive and life threatening illness. The hospice endorses a holistic approach in promoting quality of life for patients as well as in the continuing support that is offered to families and carers throughout the period of illness and into bereavement. Hospice care is free of charge to patients who have been assessed as in need of specialist palliative care.

This September I will be taking part in the Bupa Great North Run and raising funds for Wakefield Hospice, where my father was able to spend his last days in a caring environment. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
