Charity

Tomorrow's People Trust Limited
Tomorrow’s People is a specialist national employment charity which since 1984 has helped over 400,000 long-term unemployed people on their journey back to work. The charity helps break the cycle of unemployment and welfare dependency so that people can move into employment and self-sufficiency, improving their lives and those of their families and communities. Up until the recent economic downturn 90% of the people we helped to find work were still there after three months, and 76% were still employed after a year. Tomorrow’s People works with the hardest to reach groups directly in their communities, offering training and advice, confidence building, job search support, CV writing, and interview skills. Most importantly, once someone gets a job, Tomorrow’s People sticks with them and their employer to make sure that success is permanent. The impact of getting back to work literally transforms lives. When people who haven’t been able to work find a job, it puts them and their families on a secure financial footing and enables them to move forward with their lives. There are many reasons why people don’t work, they may be lone parents, ex-offenders, homeless people, long-term sick, vulnerable young people, people with disabilities, carers, refugees or alcohol and drug dependent. Tomorrow’s People knows that getting a job is not just about paying the bills, it gives us a sense of identity and affects health and well-being. Getting a job has a positive impact on individuals, their families and indeed entire communities.

Here I go again, my third consecutive London Marathon. This time I am raising money for 'Tomorrow's People', an innovative national employment charity that is changing the lives of some of society's most excluded and marginalised people through work. With your kind donations it will be possible to give those less fortunate a real chance in life.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Thank you so much,

Jamie
