Charity

The Daisy Garland
A family-run national children’s charity providing active support for children with drug-resistant epilepsy and their parents/carers. The charity was set up in memory of our daughter Daisy who tragically died at 6 years of age from SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy patients). We provide NHS hospitals with ketogenic dietitians - a medically recognised and accepted way of treating drug resistant epilepsy. This diet is not widely available on the NHS due to lack of funding. We also provide grants for night-time breathing monitors to children with drug-resistant epilepsy.
Only 0 days to go!

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charity.

I am going to catapult myself, to rise money for The Daisy Garland.

Daisy Garland is a charity that helps children with drug-resistant epilepsy. It funds an increasing number of Ketogenic Dietitians who work in NHS hospitals, treating hundreds of children with epilepsy. The charity also provides night-time breathing monitors that cost up to £880, which help to prevent SUDEP (sudden and unexpected death in epilepsy patients).

Every £880 saves one child, how many children can we save?

On the picture is me and my youngest daughter Anna. Anna was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was four months old. Before she started taking medicine she had few seizures a day. Afterwards she had 2-3 seizures a week.

When Anna was three years old she went on the ketogenic diet. Currently Anna only has one seizure a month and even once went 90 days seizure free. Anna is on the ketogenic diet due to Daisy Garland.

Daisy Garland is a charity which funds dieticians, who help children like Anna. The dieticians cost £45 000 a year. Ketogenic diet is not widely available on the NHS due to lack of funding.

I am doing this as a part of National Epilepsy Week (17-23 May). I am going to catapult myself on 31 May
