RNLI
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea. The RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews rescue an average of 23 people a day around the coasts and waterways of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. From 235 lifeboat stations, they are well trained and equipped to put to sea in the most fearsome conditions when the call comes. RNLI lifeguards patrol more than 200 beaches in the UK. As well as rescuing people from the water, they are also on hand for first aid and safety advice, making sure everyone can make the most of their day at the beach. Are you passionate about the water? Do you want to be part of a lifesaving team? Whatever the reason for your interest in our work, we’d love to have you onboard. The RNLI is an independent charity and receives no government funding. We rely on public support.
Great Western Air Ambulance Charity
The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity is the youngest air ambulance charity in England. Our official patch covers Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and some of Wiltshire. We are a charity which provides a medical helicopter to the area formerly covered by Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust. We require £1.5m each year to stay in the air. It is seriously estimated one in five of our critical missions saves a life, meaning that life would be lost without us.

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JemmaPhillips

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

Well having tried and failed (due to ill health/injury) I am training to complete the York Marathon in October. It's a big deal for me personally as I have been in and out of training for 6 years since falling ill in July 2011. This year I aim to put it all behind me properly and complete the Marathon.

I don't have a time in mind, I just aim to get through it!

I've chosen the RNLI and the Great Western Air Ambulance as my charities.

The work of the Air Ambulance is invaluable and as I live and work in the West, I thought this was the best one to chose.

As for the RNLI, well they are all heroes and put their own lives at risk to rescue others. I just hope I'm able to raise money for both of them and do them proud.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Cheers,

Jem
