Charity

National Autistic Society
The National Autistic Society is the UK's leading charity for people affected by Autism. Over half a million people in the UK have autism. Together with their families they make up over two million people whose lives are touched by autism every single day. Despite this, autism is still relatively unknown and misunderstood. Which means that many of these two million people get nothing like the level of help, support and understanding they need. Together, we are going to change this.

Hi,

Thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the National Autistic Society (NAS).

NAS is the UK's leading charity for people affected by autism. Over half a million people in the UK have autism. Together with their families they make up over two million people whos lives are touched by autism every single day.

I am trekking Kilimanjaro in the October half term to support children with autism. As most of you might know i teach autistic children, so i understand the need for support and help.

Mount Kilimanjaro is an inactive stratovolcano in nort-eastern Tanzania and is the highest mountain in Africa and fourth highest of the Seven Summits at 5,895 metres or 19,341 ft above sea level. Though the climb is technically not as challenging as when climbing the peaks of the Himalayas the altitude, low temperature, and occasional high winds make this a difficult and dangerous trek. Acclimatisation is essential, and even then most experienced climbers suffer some degree of altitude sickness.

I am putting lots of effort, time and my own funds to complete this trek and fundraise for NAS. I really appreciate your help and donations. Every penny counts so please donate as much as you can afford. Thank you very much.
