Charities

Alzheimers Society
Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them. There are 700,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2025. Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Many of our 25,000 members have personal experience of dementia, as carers, health professionals or people with dementia themselves, and their experiences help to inform our work. The Society's fight for a better world for people with all types of dementia takes a wide range of forms. Through our branches, we touch the lives of over 30,000 people every week, providing practical services and support for people with dementia and their carers. Every year, more than a million people make use of the information we provide. Through campaigning and lobbying we strive to influence government policies and raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with dementia and the people who care for them. And through our research programme we work to improve the knowledge we have about dementia and its treatment - and pursuing the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
MS Society
The MS Society is the UK's largest organisation dedicated to supporting the 100,000 people, their families and carers affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is the most common neurological disorder among young adults and is usually diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 45. Our key services and projects include a national freephone helpline, support for young people caring for families or relatives with MS, funding a dedicated MRI scanner for the diagnosis of MS, providing award-winning information publications and offering welfare grants for home adapdations and wheelchairs.
Poole Hospital Charity
The Poole Hospital Charity fundraises for all wards and departments at Poole Hospital ranging from A&E to the Children’s Ward to Elderly Care so that you can choose where you would like to donate. Funds will be used to purchase items of new equipment to ensure that we can provide the very best care for our patients. In addition, we select larger projects as priorities for the Charity. Currently we are concentrating on raising funds for the Maternity Unit Equipment Appeal, which includes the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
British Nuclear Tests Veterans Association
The BNTVA is the premier UK Charity representing and supporting the Health and Wellbeing needs of Atomic Veterans and their descendant's. We are also committed to maintaining the heritage of the Veterans experiences by passing their incredible story on to future generations. These primary aims are delivered through Education, Research and Support activities solely funded through donations.
