Family Action
Family Action is the UK’s leading family charity, working with over 45,000 children and families every year. We tackle some of the most complex and difficult issues facing families today - including domestic abuse, mental health problems, learning disabilities and severe financial hardship. These issues have a huge impact on the wellbeing and development of children; and on the ability of parents and carers to make a positive contribution to their community. We work with whole families to help them find solutions to problems, no matter how difficult, so that they become safer, stronger and more optimistic about their future.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

Many of you may know (or perhaps not) that many moons ago, back at the very beginning of the 80's I applied for, and received a place in the first ever London Marathon. Unfortunately, I was injured and I didn't actually run.

I have retained this interest in the London Marathon over the past 36 years and watched it every year, sometimes on TV and sometimes in person. It's become a bit of an annual family event as it usually falls around my birthday.

This year is somewhat of a special year for me as the marathon actually falls on the day of my 70th birthday and so, to mark the occasion, I am running the London Marathon for the first time!

Training has been underway for some time (in secret) but I have now "come out", to most people anyway, and would love it if you could support me in raising money for Family Action.

Family Action is the UK's leading family charity, working with over 45,000 children and families every year. They tackle some of the most complex and difficult issues facing families today - including domestic abuse, mental health problems, learning disabilities and severe financial hardship.

I really appreciate your support in this endeavor and in helping me to raise much needed funds for Family Action too.

Many Thanks

John
