Action For Children
Action for Children supports and speaks out for the UK's most vulnerable, disadvantaged and neglected children and young people. We’ve been working with children since 1869, and currently run nearly 500 projects across the UK supporting around 50,000 children and young people. This makes us the UK’s leading provider of family and community centres and services for disabled children and young people leaving care. We also promote social justice by lobbying and campaigning for change.

Hello and thanks for visiting our page!

On Friday 5th October 2012 we will be taking part in an event called ‘Byte Night’ which will be raising vital funds for the fantastic charity Action for Children. We am doing this to help the most vulnerable children in society who, through no fault of their own, are at risk of homelessness or already on the streets with no alternative.

Youth homelessness is a shocking reality for many young people in the UK, a reality that I can barely imagine. For one night we as a Salesforce.com team shall be sleeping out in the cold under the stars with little more than a sleeping bag (no tent!) and the warmest clothes we can find to keep us snug, giving us a small taste of what it is really like to have nowhere warm and safe to go.

We are hoping to raise £20,000 to change the lives of these young people, JP has done this before and I (Julia) have raised money for homeless charities in South Africa and Russia since being at Salesforce.  It is a passion of both JP's and myself and we are hoping that you will either join us in sleeping out or donate to help this worth while cause which is especially needed at the moment whilst times are so tough for so many young people. We will be doing this alongside many other technology companies so please please help out in whatever way you can.
