War Child
Children don’t start wars. But their homes, schools, families and communities are torn apart by war. These are the very things children rely on for protection and the chance to build a life free from poverty. War Child is a small international charity that protects children from the brutal effects of war and its consequences. We currently work in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq and Uganda.

Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page and supporting me to run this year's Virgin Money London Marathon... I hugely appreciate it!

I haven't run a marathon for six years – and this will be my first since I became a Mummy – so I'm quaking in my trainers slightly at the thought of having to fit in all those training miles, coupled with the sleep deprivation and childcare! However, not one to back away from a challenge, I'm determined to give this my best shot. Knowing my two littlest supporters will be waiting for me at the end is going to be the BEST incentive to get to that finish line, pronto!

I am dedicating this marathon to the efforts of an amazing charity, War Child. Like many people, I have been shocked and devastated at the images of thousands of children caught in the Syrian conflict, as well as those struggling to survive the daily hardships of life in refugee camps. War Child helps keep them (as well as thousands more children caught in other war zones around the world) safe – protecting, educating and standing up for their rights. From supporting Syrian children to access education, to reintegrating child soldiers in the Central African Republic, to promoting justice for young people in detention in Afghanistan, War Child's ongoing work with children who are living in the most hostile conditions is vital. No child ever started a war, yet they are the ones hardest hit when conflicts erupt. Every little helps, and I would be grateful for any amount you can afford to donate.

Many thanks!
