Charity
Help for Heroes (H4H) was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry after a profoundly moving visit to Selly Oak Hospital in the summer of 2007. Bryn and Emma met some extraordinarily brave young people who had been badly wounded and they just wanted to do something to help. "It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes."

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support.
.I am soooo pleased to announce that after 3 applications I have been lucky enough to be offered a place to run in the 2010 London Marathon. YEAY :)
I am very excited and looking forward to all of the training that I have ahead of me.
When talking to my husband about the marathon and training techniques, I mentioned that I would be more than happy just to finish without time constraints and will be proud of myself to be able to run through the finish line. For those of you that know my husband/trainer/manager!!!....... I have to challenge myself and he has turned me into a super athlete!!! :) and I have now found my self with the challenge of completing the marathon in under 4 hours!! phew enough of a challenge I think.
My chosen charity is Help For Heros, being ex forces (Royal Navy) myself, and my husband having served 23 years in the Army physical training core and with friends and family still serving I felt I have to take this opportunity to help and support this deserving charity and raise as much as I can for them.
Thankyou for visiting my web page, I will keep you all updated on the ups and downs of
my training. :0
UPDATE 14/02/2010 This week I was concentrating on my speed and pace. I really enjoyed it and it went well, I found this week that I could push myself and acheive my goal and find energy when I really thought I didnt have any left.:) This has resulted in me shaving 4 minutes from my 5 mile hill run and 3 minutes from my 5 mile flat run which I am very pleased with. Next week I have a big run to do!!! So please keep your fingers crossed for me and I will update you next week.
Kelly
Thankyou for your support.
I was expecting a chilly day with a bit of sunshine and DRY a perfect day to run to test out my marathon trainers!!! It defo wasnt dry. We cant control the weather soo I ran the 15 miles. I feel it went well, I was for the first 6 miles running 7 minute miles which i was very pleased with but averaged out at 8 minute miles. I shaved 7 minutes from my 10 mile PB which I did in 1 hour 21 minutes. I am soo pleased with this :), The road conditions werent good as they were very wet and full of puddles so my feet and trainers became very wet which did affect me for the last few miles but i acheived the 15 in 2 hour 11 minutes, I am pleased with this but was hoping for a 2 hour finish, but I now know what i have to acheive and I am still on target for a sub 4 hour Marathon. So overall very happy with my acheivement today. I will sleep tonight :)
Tune in next Sunday for my next update. Thankyou for looking.
Many thanks
