MS Society - The MS Society is the UK's largest organisation dedicated to supporting the 100,000 people, their families and carers affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is the most common neurological disorder among young adults and is usually diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 45. Our key services and projects include a national freephone helpline, respite care, an MS nurses programme, support for young people caring for families or relatives with MS, funding a dedicated MRI scanner for the diagnosis of MS, providing award-winning information publications and offering welfare grants for home adapdations and wheelchairs.

2010 Virgin London Marathon

The Virgin London Marathon is one of the great British sporting events, combining elite athletics, mass participation and record-breaking fundraising in one race. The course is a gruelling 26 miles 385 yards long, passing through the streets of London from Blackheath to the famous finish line at The Mall. Since the first race in 1981, 746,635 runners have passed the finish line and raised more than £400 million for charities and good causes. Last year alone a staggering £47.2 million was raised, making the event a Guinness World Record holder as the largest annual fundraising event on the planet.

Check out the dreadful mug shot....so teribbly wrong, don't think orange is mine or Petes colour!!

Anyway, the important stuff follows - wish us luck. Pete's planning a good go at the run but after my recent leg issues this year I'm just looking forward to the experience and getting round in my own special way!!!!

Why the MS Society? Well, it means a lot to both Pete and myself - I was diagnosed with RRMS in January 2009 and Petes Mother-in-Law has lived with MS for many, many years.  The MS Society has been invaluable to me so far. I can chat with people online and draw on their knowledge - it's great to know other people go through the same issues and you are not alone...not knowing what is around the corner can be very difficult. But me, being me won't accept this lightly and plan to fit in all those lifetime ambitions whilst I can!!! Hence the London Marathon...

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the MS Sociey. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charitys behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
