Birmingham Children’s Hospital is one of only four specialist Children’s Hospitals in the UK. As well as providing first class general paediatric services to children in the West Midlands, we treat some of the sickest children in the country and provide some of the most highly specialised services in the country. Charitable donations support and enhance the services of Birmingham Children’s Hospital by helping to fund additional facilities and equipment, supporting medical research and providing the extras that make being in hospital a more comfortable and less distressing experience for children and their families. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a centre of excellence. With your support we can keep it that way and ensure that it continues to care for our children whilst working to research, prevent, and cure childhood illnesses.

Neonatal Surgical Ward
Last year’s bicycle misadventure from Birmingham to Portsmouth in two days, with no planning, food, map, or Sat Nav battery power! wasn’t enough to break us, so we try once again!
Venturing into unknown territories, the plan is to cycle from John o’ Groats to Lands End for Charity
Contenders: Karl, Tristan, Marcus Wilkinson and, Jim Price

The Event
We kick off on the 11th September 2010 and hope to complete in a reasonable 10 days
Distance covered will be approximately 1100miles

Our Charity
The Neonatal Surgical Ward is the regional neonatal surgical unit. They accept infants from all over the country from birth up to about 6 months of age, including pre-term and term neonate’s who require surgery following a birth defect. The ward specialises in Gastro-intestinal, Neurological, Plastics and Ear, Nose and Throat surgery.
How your donation makes a difference:
£10 = 1 day’s funding for a Transport Incubator
£25 = 5 neonatal masks for a new born baby
£50 = half a day of Specialist Play Therapy
£100 = 1 week’s funding for a PICU Ventilator
£250 = 10 sessions with a Cardiac Patient Liaison Nurse
