Charities

Diabetes UK
Diabetes UK is the charity for people with diabetes, their family, friends and carers. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with the condition and work towards a future without diabetes. Diabetes UK is one of the largest patient organisations in Europe. We stand up for the interests of people with diabetes by campaigning for better standards of care. We are the largest funder in the UK of research into better treatments for diabetes and the search for a cure. We provide practical support and information and safety net services to help people manage their diabetes. For more information please visit our website: www.diabetes.org.uk.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Limited.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is dedicated to funding research to find the cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.

Aaron & Mark's Thames Path Walk for Diabetes

Fundraisers:
Mark Poston, Aaron Poston

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/maple

Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Aaron and I will be walking the 184-mile Thames Path this summer during the school holidays. It will take us 16 days to complete which have been staggered over a number of stages during the holiday to allow for other committments.

Our itinerary can be found here

We are raising money for two charities, JDRF and Diabetes UK. Each of these have helped our family understand more about diabetes since he was diagnosed in October 2011.

Supporting each of these charities will help to enable them to continue to provide the valuable support they offer, and also to help fund research into diabetes.

I have set up a FaceBook page for the walk: Thames Path Walk 2012 for JDRF and Diabetes UK

Aaron will be blogging during the walk and leading up to it: My Diabetic Life
