2012 Lymphoma Cycle Challenge

Fundraisers:

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/markalanchris

On Sep 21st we will start our epic cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats (the length of the UK). Normally this iconic trip takes 12-14days, but we’ve decided to compress this into 8days, whilst also staying off major roads, making it a real physical and mental test. Each day we’ll average some 8-10hrs in the saddle, covering 200km and 2,000m ascents ... and 6000+ calories .... that’s the equivalent of cycling from London to Birmingham and twice up England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, each and every day.

We’re doing this challenge to raise much needed funds for The Lymphoma Association and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Each of us has immediate family or friends that are affected by blood cancers and these charities provide excellent and much needed support to patients, carers and families.

Our training over the coming weeks will require many hours of sacrifice and our families will be a great support. We’ve arranged that all the costs for the trip will be borne by ourselves, thus ensuring that every penny you donate goes to the benefit of these well deserving charities.

Please dig deep and support our challenge ... ... we are very grateful for any support you can offer.  You can follow our challenge at www.facebook.com/2012lcc.

Many thanks in advance,

Alan Critchley, Chris Midgley, Mark Wharton, Mark Harrison
