My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/markkilimanjaro

Hello to everyone that visits my page with a view to sponsoring my walk and crawl up Kilimanjaro.

I am raising funds to support the UK Gauchers Association who provide support to patients and their families living with Gaucher disease. My step daughter has Gaucher disease and over the last fifteen years the Association has provided us with friendship, support and up to date information on research, clinical trials and new treatments. The Association relies solely on fundraising and by voluntary donations for its activities.

I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far and I'd like to say a massive thank you for the Help and Support of my father in law, Paul Jenkins and the PTS team in Fishponds, Bristol, without whom I would not have raised as much as I have.

I'm aiming to do the 7 day Rongai trek from the north of the mountain and is one of the least frequented trails on Kilimanjaro, which is perfect for those looking for a more ‘wilderness’ experience. It isn't an ‘easier’ route, but it takes a slower, more relaxed pace over the 7 days offering good acclimatisation. Through forest, the trail climbs steadily up to Mawenzi tarn and in the shadow of Mawenzi Peak, before crossing the barren landscape of 'The Saddle'. From base camp at Kibo it is a tough but spectacularly rewarding ascent up to the summit via Gillman’s and Stella point.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the Gauchers Association where it will help the charity support the children and adults who suffer from Gauchers disease and also their families.

Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
