Disability Action Yorkshire
Disability Action Yorkshire provides services to disabled people across Yorkshire, to enable them to live the lifestyle of their own choosing. We provide care, support, training in employment skills, specialist accommodation, home-care, companionship and so much more. Our services are: 34 Claro Road - the only residential care specifically for adults with physcial disabilities in the Harrogate and district area; Alpha Care - a home-care service enabling disabled adults to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible; Spot On - a training in skills for employment service for adults with physical and learning disabilities. We focus on independence and choice and aim to provide our service-users with as many opportunities as possible to live a full and independent lifestyle.

“On 16th April, we will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Disability Action Yorkshire. The charity is based in Harrogate and provides care and support for disabled adults across our county. This includes residential accommodation for adults with physical disabilities; training in employment skills for adults with physical and learning disabilities; and home-care for disabled adults, especially those who have been disabled by old age. The charity helps some of the most disadvantaged people in our local community to feel more independent, less isolated and able to achieve their full potential in life.

Disability Action Yorkshire is a local charity and one that is close to our hearts, as Howard Marshall is a trustee. The charity does not receive government grants and relies on fundraising events and the support of local people to continue providing opportunities for disabled adults.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a tough challenge, spanning 26 miles and the three highest peaks in Yorkshire. We aim to complete it in less than 12 hours! We have already started training and now we need your support to help us raise as much money as possible for Disability Action Yorkshire! Please give whatever you can and thank you very much for supporting us! “

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
