Charity

Kirsten Scott Memorial Trust
The Trust was established in December 2011 by Kirsten’s family and friends. Sadly Kirsten died from cancer on 28 October 2011, just a couple of weeks after celebrating her 25th birthday. The aims of the Trust are to support individuals, and groups of young people, under the age of 26, who want to undertake projects which will enhance their personal development and make a positive contribution. We feel that this is a great way to commemorate Kirsten and continue the types of volunteering and charity work which she had undertaken herself, in the UK and overseas, and which brought her such joy. Here are some themes which were part of Kirsten’s life and which we feel will be relevant to those making an application to the Trust. Support for teenagers and young adults with cancer Gap-year volunteering and other activities Overseas travel and learning about other cultures and languages Voluntary service in the UK Political participation and representation by young people Participation in sports activities, particularly minority sports Drama and music performance and production Young Scots in London (and anywhere away from home)

Toby and Andrew worked with Kirtsen Scott, before she tragically took ill. We have been looking to do a major and challenging event to raise funds for the trust set up in her name. We will be cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in the first week of July. We hope that you can support us and raise funds for this worthwhile charity.
