2010 Virgin London Marathon

25 April 2010

The Virgin London Marathon is one of the great British sporting events, combining elite athletics, mass participation and record-breaking fundraising in one race. The course is a gruelling 26 miles 385 yards long, passing through the streets of London from Blackheath to the famous finish line at The Mall. Since the first race in 1981, 746,635 runners have passed the finish line and raised more than £400 million for charities and good causes. Last year alone a staggering £47.2 million was raised, making the event a Guinness World Record holder as the largest annual fundraising event on the planet.

Hi Guys,

I decided to do the London Marathon this year because I wanted a challenge. As I started to look for a charity to run for, the list became endless and I wanted to help everyone.

I chose SENSE (a charity for deaf & blind people) because I wanted to raise awareness. If you actually stop to think about how difficult a persons life could be being both deaf and blind, you would realise the marathon and the giving money is the easy bit - its living their lives that are the most difficult.If one person can benefit from the money we raise and make their life a little easier - my job will be done!

Please help me raise this money as I really do feel strongly about trying to make others lives as good as my own.
