Michael Scott

Charity

Rochdale And District Round Table Charitable Trust
During the last 11 years - Michael Scott the Chairman of Roundtable has suffered from the ability to walk distances and take part in social and sports activities. At the beginning of this year he was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of both the left and right hips. In July he had a major operation to have the right hip replaced. A comment made on my way to recovery “ I truly believe that anyone can achieve almost anything if they can first dream it, but then execute an action plan to make it real”. This stands out to him and as being Chairman of Rochdale Roundtable and Roundtable being about putting something back into the community he has decided to do something that 2 months ago he would not even dreamt about. A 10K Walk to raise money for Charity. This was his ambition for this year and it will be a big achievement for him to successfully complete the walk considering half a mile was all he could achieve before having the operation. Who knows what it will be next year. The walk is all about raising money for the local charities that this year Roundtable are involved with. After the event we have kindly been offered to attend Littleborough Rugby Club at the back of Hollingworth Lake to cheer them on against Oldham, their local derby.
