We raise money to help The Royal Marsden provide world-class care for cancer patients, and to support the hospital’s pioneering work in cancer research and education.
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that specializes in emergency shelter. We help thousands of disaster affected families every year by sending ShelterBoxes. Although the contents of our large green ShelterBoxes will vary depending on the type of disaster we are responding to and where in the world they are being sent, they will generally include a specially designed disaster relief tent, a stove, a kitchen set, water purification equipment, blankets, a toolkit and more. A ShelterBox will provide an extended family of up to 10 people with shelter, warmth and dignity for approximately 6 months. Every donation that we receive will help us provide shelter, warmth and dignity to families across the world who have lost everything due to disaster.
The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund was set up by Nelson Mandela to offer care protection and support to the most vulnerable children in South Africa. Believing that every child has the right to a childhood free of abuse NMCF works tirelessly to protect children by supporting their families and communities. NMCF in the UK fundraises for this vital work and is extremely grateful to the motivated and generous individuals and companies who make such an important contribution to the future of children in South Africa.

My Journey To Dakar
hi, thanks for visiting my page.
through virgin money giving and my journey to dakar i aim to raise as much profile and financial support for my key charities:
- royal marsden
- shelter box
- nelson mandela children's fund (uk)
you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charities.
virgin money giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
all charities pay a one off £100 fee to register with virgin money giving and a 2% administration charge on all donations (excluding the gift aid element) and event fee payments to enable virgin money giving to covers its costs. virgin money giving does not charge an administration fee for the collection of gift aid on behalf of the charities.
my plan is get sponsors to match every pound, dollar, euro, dirham, peso that i spend (have spent) on getting to the dakar. so the guideline target is going to be £60,000, yep, that's what i've budgeted!
please spread the word and email my blog and or virgin money giving url to your friends and colleagues who might be interested in the dakar, desert racing, rallies, motorbikes, challenges, or 'my' charities (as i call them!).
