Hope For Youth (ni)
Hope for Youth Northern Ireland was founded in 1972 and is a UK Registered charity that focuses on assisting young people in Northern Ireland, particularly those from areas of multiple deprivation, overcome the day to day hurdles that they face. Hope for Youth believes that the best hope for social cohesion and reconciliation in Northern Ireland is to support cross-community projects where young people can learn to work together to learn new skills, build friendships and develop confidence. The charity is multi-cultural, multi-denominational, non-sectarian and non-political.

I know what you are thinking. Here we go again... or else you remember me saying "NEVER AGAIN" after the Belfast City Marathon in 2015.

Well, I didn't want the Belfast Marathon to be my lasting memory of marathons and it's fair to say the race didn't go as planned! However I did complete it and raised a whole stack of money in memory of my mum.

A year later I was watching the London Marathon, as I do every year, and thought I still really want to do that! It's time to face my demons.

I have decided to run the London Marathon for a brilliant local charity called HOPE FOR YOUTH NI It was a charity formed in 1972, the year I was born, and helps young people in Northern Ireland - particularly young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

They believe the best hope for reconcilliation and peace in Northern Ireland is to support cross-community projects where young people aged 11-18 can learn to work together to learn new skills and build friendships.  The charity is non-sectarian and non-political.

With your help, we can help to fund organisations which foster teamwork, creativity and personal development across divides, such as musical or dramatic production or an outdoor expedition within Ireland.
