National Autistic Society
The National Autistic Society is the UK's leading charity for people affected by Autism. Over half a million people in the UK have autism. Together with their families they make up over two million people whose lives are touched by autism every single day. Despite this, autism is still relatively unknown and misunderstood. Which means that many of these two million people get nothing like the level of help, support and understanding they need. Together, we are going to change this.

Row Them Home – North Atlantic 2010

Leven and his crew, who are being sponsored by Artemis, have generously offered this record attempt to The National Autistic Society for fundraising an awareness-raising of autism. The North Atlantic is the 'Everest' of ocean rowing and will demand the utmost strength of body and character, as well as tenacity and resolve.

Leven Brown who already holds world records for crossing the Southern Atlantic, and his crew are now preparing to challenge the might of the North Atlantic and beat this record of 55 days and 7 hours. This is not for the faint-hearted or the under-prepared. The crew expects the boat to capsize at least a dozen times; their journey will take them over the site of the Titanic and through some deadly high seas and storms, which formed the basis of the film, ‘The Perfect Storm’ and they will have to consume 6,000 calories a day each to be able to cope with the gruelling physical effort of completing this challenge.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
