I DID IT!!!

Virgin London Marathon - COMPLETED

6 hours, 9 minutes, 37 seconds

Now get donating everybody!!!

This is it. The big one. The London Marathon 2013.

26 miles and 385 yards of the means streets of The Big Smoke. No running shoes.

On a (hopefully!) sunny Sunday morning in April I will be joining thousands of other runners at the start line of one of the world's premier sporting events. Some will be running to win. Some merely to finish. And many thousands run for charities that are dear to their heart, raising vitally needed funds. For many charities in the UK, sponsorship from the London Marathon is their biggest source of income.

I am running as part of Team Mind, to raise funds for Mind, a leading mental health charity in England and Wales. I need to raise a minimum of £1600. I easily know 160 generous people who can chip in a tenner. It seems a huge target, but put like that, not really.

Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your work colleagues. Point them in the direction of this fundraising page and tell them about that guy you went to school with, that guy you work with, the one who runs without running shoes over long distances, and does it willingly.

I need your help to spread the word. I need your support to see me through to the finish line. But mostly I need your money for a very worthy cause.

1 in 4 people in this country will be affected by mental health issues at some point in their lives. Mental health isn't some obscure problem that will rarely touch your life. But it isn't well-funded or spoken about as often as other medical issues are, due to the huge stigma that comes with admitting that you have mental health problems. But with 1 in 4 affected, the chances are that you know someone, right now, trying to cope with mental illness.

And if you know me, then you know one. So please, give generously, and help me help Mind to help people like me.

Thank you.
