Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only charity exclusively funding research into pancreatic cancer in institutions throughout the UK. Pancreatic cancer has a 3% survival rate. While the survival rates for many cancers have improved over the last forty years, the rate for pancreatic cancer has not changed. Lack of research and research funding has been a major factor. Pancreatic cancer is the 5th most common cause of cancer death, but receives only 1% of UK cancer research funding. Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is a new charity dedicated to defeating the disease by supporting and promoting cutting edge research into early detection and new teatments.
Bloodwise formerly known as Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research
We are the UKs biggest blood cancer charity. We are here to beat blood cancer. We stop people dying from blood cancer, we make patients lives better and we stop people getting blood cancer in the first place. We research. We help. We campaign. We share learning. We raise money. We have changed the world for people with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood disorders, but we won’t stop until every single person with blood cancer survives and can live their life to the full.

Update 14 September 2014 - Well we did it!

The Titanic Terrors and the Himalayan Heroes were Bill Saunders, Pete Sawyer, Emily Hagues, Cameron Jones, Stuart Reeds, Nigel Ruffalo, Hannah Carding, Lottie Carding, Steve Allen, Tessa Forster, Lewis Forster, Dan Forster, Justin Carding, Louise Aldrich-Harris, Joe Allen, Will Sawyer, Jane Jones,John Philpot, Alison Potter Drake, Paul Greetham, Debbie Carding, Janine Shute, Maria Coppard, Ruby Shute, Craig Shute, Sian Whelpton, David Whelpton, Anna Davis, Alice Mara,Clive Saunders, Josh Kettley, Arthur Kettley, Tim Mustin, Jason Kettley, Garath Edwards, Grover Rayner Parkin, Darryl Quick.

As the Album of photos shows we had great supporters, handsome sailors, glamerous ladies and magnificant monks with a special appearance from the Dalai Mara herself. Our drummers braved great heights to keep us in time, giving it the full Phil Collins and losing their voices but retaining their dignity. Some took it steady at a leisurely pace and others gave it their all...and a bit more.
A day for laughing in the face of adversity, for tactical mastery and sharing good food and drink. Some remained elegant afloat - fewer looked good in a bald wig. Some played it cool...some dared to bare...and others let it all hang out (sadly). t was a day for friends. It was a day for Mothers and Sons, for Fathers and Sons, for Brothers and Uncles and for family. A time of passion, true grit, companionship and the unexpected......not least the narrow victory of the Himalayan Heroes over the Titanic Terrors!

We are all very proud to have raised as much as we have but we'd love to reach our target for our charities though so do give what you can.

Hi, thanks for visiting the fundraising page for the PATH Paddlers Dragon Boat Race.

We are a group of 40 friends seeking your sponsorship to enter two teams in the annual Dargon Boat Race on Bewl Water, Lamberhurst on 13 September 2014. Two crews (plus drummers) will race over 40 other teams in Chinese-style decorated long boats over a 250metre course. Just to make it interesting we all be in full fancy dress!

All the money we raise will go directly to two cancer research charities in urgent need of additional funds - Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Leukaemia&Lymphoma Research.

You can read more about why our team captains Polly and Tessa chose our charities, and the other fundraising events in the P.A.T.H charity challenge, over on the right under "other fundraising".

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
