Charities
The East Anglian Air Ambulance is a lifesaving charity covering the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. We receive no Government funding so are entirely dependant on fundraisers, donations and the generosity of the public. We have to raise over £3 million a year to continue our service, flying 365 days a year, with an average of four to five missions per day. Beacuse our crews can get to patients fast and provide advanced medical attention we can be the difference between complete recovery and long term injury, life and death. Road traffic accidents account for over 50% of the incidents we're called to. Due to the speed of the helicopters it takes no more than 13 minutes to the nearest A&E department within the region. It's your support that enables us to save lives.
Virgin Unite is the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group. We unite people to tackle tough social and environmental problems in an entrepreneurial way. Our aim is to help revolutionize the way businesses, government and the social sector work together - driving business as a force for good. This is based on the belief that this is the only way we can tackle the scale and urgency of the challenges facing the world today. All of Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of additional donations received, go direct to the frontline where they are needed most.
Please note Virgin Money Giving isn't responsible for the content fundraisers post on their pages, but if you see something you feel is offensive or inappropriate, please let us know and we'll look into it.
Peter Burton's Jumps to Raise

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
On the 29th of March I will be strapping myself to another human being that feels that the only right thing to do to seek a thrill is to hurl themselves out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft at a height of 13,500 feet and hope to land on the ground with no more of a bump than jumping off a sofa in order to raise money for needy charities.
In itself this sounds an easy way to spend a few hours to rasie money however there is a small issue here. I am not what you would call a height loving individual. I do break out in a sweat whilst driving over the Penines on the M62 due to the percieved hieght given by my eyes seeing lower than normal clouds.
My heart does often skip a beat whilst standing on a chair to change a lightbulb and I often ask someone to stand close by to break my fall should I have a missfire in my dunlop slippers.
My profile picture to the left was taken just after being asked to go up a ladder to check the house guttering for a blockage.
Please give generously as this will be no mean feat for myself.
Please view the video below to see what an Air Ambulance does in order to save life. Hopefully you never ever need one but if you ever do then you will be eternally grateful. Lets do our part to keep them flying and saving lives.
Pete
