PLANETS is a charity based at University Hospital Southampton, dedicated to defeating Pancreatic Liver And NeuroEndocrine TumourS (NETs)

Please support us in our campaign to increase awareness and improve outcomes for patients living with these complex diseases: through early detection, better treatments, support and research.

Our current priorities include:

  • Introducing IORT (Intra Operative Radiotherapy). The U.K.’s first mobile linear accelerator giving radiotherapy during surgery to reduce the risk of advanced cancers returning.
  • Genetic and cellular research and innovation.
  • Introduction of Nanoknife for inoperable pancreatic, liver and NET tumours.
  • Introduction of  HIPeC for advanced pancreatic, liver and NET tumours

With donations received from our various fundraising events, in the last four years we have already managed to provide:
  • A new top of the range ultrasound scanner worth over 70k, which delivers outstanding performance for superior clinical precision, diagnostic confidence and accurate tumour targeting.
  • A shielded box and delivery system for our “magic bullet “ nuclear medicine treatments.
  • New laparoscopic slave stack for theatre 8 giving us a second equipment stack on the opposite side of the patient so that when operating, the surgeon and team can switch sides of the patient easily, improving ergonomics and saving time.
  • £50,000 towards our pancreatic and NET cancer research projects

If you are interested in fundraising and want to help PLANETS please visit our website or www.planetscharity.org

Your donations are most welcome.

Every penny raised goes directly to the PLANETS fund for thePLANETS team for treating PLANETS patients!

Kindest regards,
Neil Pearce and the PLANETS team.
